A Quickstart Guide To Siege Of Orgrimmar LFR – Part One

lfr siege 240

Jumping into the new Siege of Orgimmar can be a daunting task, even in LFR. A new raid takes a little while to permeate into the collective consciousness, leaving the vast majority of the group with no idea what to do and in many cases leading to some costly wipes. Help avoid these wipes by arming yourself with the info below, conveniently organised by boss and role so you’ll never be at a loss of what to do. While certainly not an extensive wrap-up of every boss ability, it is more than enough to complete the fight successfully.

IMMERSEUS

General advice: Don’t stand in Sha Pools. Don’t get hit by Swirl. Kill Immerseus, then kill/heal little adds. Repeat.
Tanks: Tank Immerseus facing away from the raid at the front or the back of the room. OT stay off to the side to avoid the Corrosive Blast spray and swap when it is applied to the MT. Help DPS/heal the little adds that come out while Immerseus is submerged.
Healers: Spread yourselves around the boss evenly, but don’t stand directly on the tanks. Use markers to help organise people if necessary. Heal the white adds that come out while Immerseus is submerged.
DPS: Spread around the boss as evenly as possible, but don’t stand directly on the tanks. DPS the black adds when Immerseus is submerged.

FALLEN PROTECTORS

General advice: Rook, He and Sun must be brought to 66% separately, then 33% separately, then killed at roughly the same time. At 66% and 33%, bosses will use Desperate Measures. For Rook’s Desperate Measures, kill Sorry, Misery, then Gloom. Stack in Inferno Strike and move out of Defiled Ground. For He’s Desperate Measures, pass the Mark to a tank by targeting a tank and pressing the extra action button, then kill the add. For Sun’s Desperate Measures, stack inside the bubble while ranged kill the adds outside and melee kill the adds inside.
Tanks: One pick up Rook, the other pick up He. Rook tank face him away from raid, He tank can avoid the gouge by turning around. Rook tank pick up Rook’s adds, He’s tank call for the Mark of Anguish.
Healers: Make sure to dispel Shadow Word: Bane.
DPS: Focus Rook to 66%, then deal with his adds. Then focus He to 66%, and deal with his add. Then focus Sun to 66% and deal with her adds. Repeat for 33%. Balance DPS so they all die at roughly the same time.

NORUSHEN

General advice: Random people will be taken into a spirit realm where they must complete a task (tank, heal, DPS). Upon completing the task they will be cleansed of corruption, increasing their effectiveness. Don’t get hit by the big beam of death. Black orbs drop from the big adds when they die and they must be run over by somebody with corruption to spare or will do lots of aoe damage to raid.
Tanks: Swap stacks at about 8 (earlier if you are taking lots of damage, higher if it seems negligible). Pick up the big adds as they spawn. Stand in small black orbs if you are not at 100% Corruption.
Healers: Corruption is the least of your concern, so try to soak as many of the black orbs to save the DPS and tanks from doing it.
DPS: Adds > boss. Be prepared to soak orbs if required.

SHA OF PRIDE

General advice: Keep an eye on people with high corruption – an addon such as DBM will help – as they will become more dangerous to the raid as time goes on. DPS and Heals stack on the Gorehowl behind Sha, with tanks opposite. When Reflections appear underneath, run out, then run back in. When the prison lights up, stand on the orange panels. Another add will appear behind the group – switch and interrupt. Move out of big purple circles.
Tanks: Essentially one-tankable in LFR. Other tank can help out with Reflections and Manifestations, but be sure to return to the other tank to help out with the prison on that side of the room.
Healers: Dispel when you get Gift of the Titans.
DPS: In addition to mechanics above, kill adds > boss.
