(SPOILERS) WoW 8.1: Saurfang Story Continues, Quests with Player Choices

by - 6 years ago

(SPOILERS) Saurfang’s story continues in 8.1 with a new quest chain that takes Horde players across Elwynn and beyond. The quests feature choices and options to clarify your particular character’s allegiance to either Warchief Sylvanas or longtime Horde loyalist and war strategist Saurfang.

Along the way, you’ll earn a couple neat rewards, including the from the Redridge Tarantula pet from rarespawn Gnollfeaster and Worn Cloak toy from finishing the chain.

Although the quests do give you options to choose which leader you support, the bulk of the effects are contained to the quests, themselves, and begin and end in such a way that your choices are more for making the adventure more memorable than having a lasting outcome. However, we will likely see if there are more longterm effects of your choices.

In our video, we primarily choose options that support Saurfang–hopefully, I’ll get around to making a fresh 120 Hordie to experience the Forsaken angle.

Horde players begin the new quest chain by speaking to Dark Ranger Alina on The Banshee’s Wail in Zuldazar. After accepting The Dark Lady’s Call, you will report to Sylvanas in Orgrimmar, where she will give you your mission and send you off to Elwynn Forest.

“Zappy Boi” Zekhan returns later in the quest chain, revealing that Sylvanas only wanted to find Saurfang because she had deduced that the Orc was working with the humans during his escape.

From Sylvanas’s point of view, Saurfang committed treason punishable by execution. Saurfang’s point of view, as well as his words with Anduin, were previously revealed in the “Lost Honor” cinematic revealed during BlizzCon 2018:
