Anyone who might have followed my adventures through the Warlords of Draenor beta testing will remember the article about the new character model for the female draenei. Overall I was positive to the changes (even if they weren’t final at that point), but there was one thing that bothered me.

The eyes.

I know a lot of people reacted to them being a faded blue, rather than a glowing white, but my biggest issue was the shape of the eyes. It made them look bulging and insect-like. Although the designers changed that slightly for release, it wasn’t enough in my opinion.

Patch 6.1 will rectify this (hopefully at least — we all know that things on the PTR are subject to change at any time). The eyes have now gone back to their old shape, albeit looking a little bit more elegant and streamlined, and they are also back to being white and glowing. The eyelashes have changed shape too, and the shading around the eyes is a little bit different. The shape of their mouth have also become more streamlined and natural looking (some of those smiles were certainly awkward in their appearance). Overall, I am personally very pleased with these changes.
