WoW 8.2: Mechagon Zone, Megadungeon Revealed at BlizzCon 2018

World of Warcraft patch 8.2, titled “Rise of Azshara,” has more to offer than just an entire raid and continent for Naga –it also includes a huge new zone devoted to the ancient Gnome city of Mechagon, as well as a 8-boss megadungeon.
In addition to the below, a new Mechagon arena is coming, although we don’t have anymore information on it yet.

Story of Mechagon
Alliance players will recall that a certain Gnome has been pondering what’s behind a giant gear in Tiragarde Sound since Battle for Azeroth launched. The surrounding area has a bunch of great new “junk” themed assets, and it was all a precursor to the discovery of Mechagon.
When 8.2 hits, the door will open, revealing a radio transponder originating from the ancient Gnome city. Gnomes and Goblins will race to discover the location of the radio signal, and then Horde and Alliance will work together with the lower caste Mechagnomes from the Mechagon wastes to unseat King Mechagon and the snobby upper caste.
Mechagnomes are separated by caste. Those with more robust mechanical replacements (limbs, eyes, etc.) belong to the upper caste that resides in the great, gleaming vault with their king. The lower caste generally has fewer mechanical enhancements, or their enhancements are corroded and in disrepair. The lower caste resides in the wastes.
We will encounter many new types of robot units, which we will fight throughout the zone, while questing, and in the new megadungeon.
King Mechangon has a vision to return anyone of flesh into more pure robotic parts and it’s up to you to put a stop to him.
A New Megadungeon
Megadungeons seem to be a new term for an old concept. Much like the Kharazan rework in Legion or many early vanilla dungeons, this dungeon will be huge. It’s a double-length 5-man instance, including a whopping 8 bosses. It will launch as Mythic-only at first.
Like Kharazan, it is likely (although this was not stated) that it will be split in half in the future into two separate dungeons, and that it will receive a Normal and/or Heroic version to queue for, as well.
