Just Two Weeks Remain In The Machines Of War Event

by - 8 years ago

The Machines of War event officially ends on October 18th, which means time is running out on certain event related items.

For starters, if you haven’t already unlocked the portrait for completing the Xel’naga Artifact Hunt you better get cracking. This quest is much easier to complete after the recent change that allows fragments collected by your teammates to count towards your total, so there is plenty of time left even if you haven’t started yet. If you find yourself approaching the deadline and scrambling to complete this quest try playing AI games against beginner bots. These games typically only last five to seven minutes, allowing you to squeeze more games in a shorter period of time.

This is also your last chance to pick up the massive Machines of War Bundle. While this bundle is a bit pricey, it is the most cost effective way to get all of the event related skins and mounts. Don’t forget, Dynamic Pricing is in effect so you will receive a discount on the bundle if you already own some of the items contained within.

Free Hero Banner

If for some reason you haven’t logged in since the event began, you might want to. One of the things that came along with this event was a free 4000 gold Hero, so at the very least be sure to log in to claim yours. If you already own all of the 4000 gold Heroes then you will receive the gold equivalent instead. If you ever play on servers outside your region don’t forget to log onto those servers as well and claim your reward. I am not 100% certain that this promotion will end along with the Machines of War event, but why wait and risk missing out.

The end of the event is also expected to signal the end of the limited map pool. If you enjoy not seeing Garden Terror now is your chance to play as many games as possible.
