Kobolds and Catacombs Daily Reveal Recap 2

by - 6 years ago

Reveal season keeps on chugging along with another five reveals today, including a couple controversial ones.

Rummaging Kobold is a nice counterplay to the expected increase of anti-weapon cards.

Twig of the World Tree is nice because we all were concerned that Kun wasn’t giving ramp-style druids enough free Ultimate Infestation turns, kappa. It is also semi-resistant to weapon removal, unlike most other weapons.

Zola the Gorgon is amazing value for people who craft cards based on the quality/quantity of golden animations the card generates and the card has some potential in-game applications, to boot.

Spiteful Summoner is an interesting buildaround-type card that has no apparent place in existing meta decks, but could certainly make for some high-value plays in the right deck.

Seeping Oozeling is interesting, but the good deathrattles don’t get too much better than Savannah Highmane’s, in Standard anyway, and this card is a full 1/1 worse than the original Highmane. However, there has been a deathrattle/egg Hunter floating around of late that might take advantage of this.

A housekeeping note: it’s unclear how reveal season will be impacted by U.S.’s Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday (or tomorrow, on unofficial “slack-off-at-work-until-Thanksgiving-day”), but we’ll keep you all updated on our running spoiler list as any cards come out. What do you think of today’s batch of cards?

Edit: I forgot, Blizzard was kind enough to give us a schedule of card reviews, so we know for sure that a couple are coming over Thanksgiving.

minor thing about the druid weapon, it does not say its until end of turn, so if you can find some way to pop it early it could be BIG ramp potential if I am reading it right.

That’s how I’m reading it, too. It also doesn’t say “empty,” so it seems to refresh any crystals you already used for the turn!
