Well Met! Episode 52: Celebrating 1 Year with Firebat!
by JR Cook - 8 years ago show comments
Well Met! As always, your hosts John, J.R., and Kevin get together every week to discuss all things Hearthstone – news, esports, and more. We look forward to producing a show that keeps you up to speed on all the biggest things happening in Hearthstone, its awesome communities, and its incredible tournaments. Join us live on Sunday evenings for the video stream, or download the audio podcast on Mondays!
Happy Well Met-iversary! Our 52nd episode happened to work out to land on the week we first introduced you to Blackrock Mountain this time last year when Well Met debuted, and we are so thrilled to still be bringing you all things Hearthstone every week.
To celebrate our special occasion, we invited special guest James ‘Firebat‘ Kostesich (recently of Cloud9) to join us – not knowing at the time that we’d conveniently end up having his brilliant mind to pick hot on the heels of the announcement of Hearthstone’s spring 2016 expansion, Whispers of the Old Gods! Firebat told us a bit about his plans for 2016 (spoiler – he wants to continue being the winning-est player in Hearthstone!), then walked us through the highs and lows of the upcoming cards that have been revealed so far. We also discussed the all-new Hearthstone patch that introduced a new alternate Paladin character (for free!), Thai localization, the Old Gods preorder, and so much more.
Last – but certainly not least – we discussed the recent HCT Americas Winter Championship. Congratulations are in order for 15-year-old William ‘Amnesiac‘ Barton of Team Archon, who won and is the first player seeded directly to the Hearthstone World Championship later this year.
Much of what we’re able to do on the show is made possible by the generous support of our Patrons over on Patreon. You can check out our live streams and other BlizzPro shows on Twitch, hit up our subreddit, or even pick up your own cool Well Met merchandise.
As always, special thanks to our Friends of the Show – Martin Z, Shawn G, and Albert – as well as Jake Butineau for our incredible soundtrack.
Stay connected with us! We love answering your e-mails, chatting with you on Twitter (John, J.R., Kevin), and seeing those 5-star iTunes reviews.
