LFG? Look No Further!
by Its_Immanis - 5 years ago show comments
In early 2010 a website was created by members of the community. The goal of this website was to bring players together someplace outside of the World of Warcraft. Someplace that would allow them to create groups, schedule events, and share a passion for different types of gameplay even if their characters didn’t reside on the same server. Raiding, battlegrounds, mount farming, or even just get togethers for non-instanced activities like RP events or social hours. There were very few limits on the types of events that could be created on the site. However, as with most things, the site […]

Hotfixes for July 28, 2015
by JR Cook - 9 years ago show comments
Community Manager Spyrian took to the official forums this afternoon to announce a hotfix for Heroes of the Storm. The patch itself was quite small, but it did address two major bugs that had found their way into play recently. The first involved the use of Shadow Assault to allow Zeratul players to travel much farther than intended. The second allowed Leoric players to deal massive amounts of damage to the Garden Terror or Dragon Knight thru a bug with the Crush Hope talent. Just like with the Lili Cloud Serpent exploit, it is nice to see Blizzard taking quick […]
The Power of First Impressions
by JR Cook - 10 years ago show comments
I was recently watching one of my favorite streamers (shout out to @KyleFergusson) when I was struck by the power of a simple statement that he made. It was early in a game and he said, “I’m just trying to be as scary as possible”. It was such an offhanded comment that at first I didn’t grasp the full meaning. After hearing him make similar comments in other games, I finally started to realize how profound the idea really was. Everyone has heard the expression ‘You never get a second chance to make a good first impression’. This applies just as […]
Reminder: Claim Your Free Mechanospider
by JR Cook - 10 years ago show comments
The Heroes team has released a new Facebook app, encouraging social media users to participate in order to claim an in-game reward: the Mechanostriderspider. To get hold of this clicking, whirring death machine, simply click here and hit ‘Create a team’. Authorise the app, then select Facebook friends to make up your five-strong team. After that comes the fun part: assigning traits. These include Bouncy Ball (‘Never low on energy’), Harlequin (‘Has a very colourful wardrobe’) and Ninja (‘Always lurking in the shadows’). After traits are assigned, it’s time to create your team. Hit the button and the combination of traits […]
Heroes of the Storm at Pax Prime
by Hotstreak - 10 years ago show comments
Blizzard is bringing Heroes of the Storm to Pax Prime to announce three new playable heroes that will be added to the lineup. These three new heroes are rumored to be Chen Stormstout, Kael’Thas, and Sylvanas Windrunner. Chen was already revealed at China Joy along with some videos of his abilities, so it’s very possible that he will make an appearance at Pax Prime. Kael’Thas and Sylvanas seem like good candidates as well since their in-game models were revealed at Pax East back in April. But lets not forget that Anub’Arak has been teased a couple of times recently by […]
Matchmaking in Heroes of the Storm
by Hotstreak - 10 years ago show comments
Blizzard released a blog post yesterday detailing how the matchmaking works in Heroes of the Storm. Matchmaking has been a big topic lately as players didn’t really know how it was working and what criteria it looks for when finding players for a match. Turns out that HotS uses a very similar matchmaking system to Starcraft II which should really come as no surprise. But since SCII is largely balanced around 1v1 play, the matchmaking needs to be a little different in HotS. You can check out the official post down below!
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty & Heart of the Swarm Price Drop

Blizzard announced earlier today that both the original StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and its first expansion, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, will be permanently reduced in price on the Battle.net store effective immediately. You can purchase either the original game or its expansion for $20 USD apiece, or a bundle of the two together for $35 USD. If you haven’t already enjoyed Blizzard’s RTS masterpiece, there’s no better time to get started. Additionally, if you’re thinking of playing Heroes of the Storm when it comes out, Heroes is built on the same engine and control scheme – learning […]
Starcraft II Balance Patch Soon
by JR Cook - 11 years ago show comments
Starcraft II fans rejoice. The new balance patch is planned to go live this Friday. From David Kim: Blizzard made the right call here. Both the Tempest buff and Stalker Blink nerfs seemed a bit extreme. With the other changes to Protoss it is unquestionably the right call to hold off on making more tweaks to a faction which will surely be in flux over the next few weeks. However, the rest of the proposed changes are going through. Kim again: These changes are fantastic. Widow Mines are featured heavily in TvZ but have not found a place in TvP […]
