Ready to show off your custom game design skills to the public? The server browser allows players to find custom games for to join. This allows players to find the kind of matches they want to try. Custom games will be getting lots more features to try out. One great feature is the ability to gain experience in them. You can gain achievemnts and loot boxes even in the custom matches.
Did you enjoy capture the rooster during the Year of the Rooster event? Overwatch has plans to make this style of play available in custom games. They are working on adding/converting 9 additional maps to played in the same style. Do you want to require that you have control of the enemy flag to pick up yours? Do think it takes to long or not long enough to pickup the flag? Do you think hero abilities should be disabled? What about movement abilities, should they cause you to drop the flag? These options and many more are yours to control.
They have unlocked so many great new options for your use in custom mode. You think a certain hero detracts from a type of map, disable them. Is just one ability too overpowered? How about just disabling that. You could even just tweek it by turning down the damage, lengthen the cool down. Want to create a “Boss” encounter? How about pumping up the health and damage on a tank character and have them face off against 6 players. This is just a taste of what you will be able to do with custom games. They plan to continue to open up more options with time.
