Got Lethal #10: Demonic Sacrifice
by JR Cook - 9 years ago show comments
Welcome to “Got Lethal?” a (hopefully) weekly feature that will try to put you on complicated, yet winnable situations. We will bring you puzzles of sorts where you are tasked with determining the best line of play, which mostly is play that will guarantee you the victory. Maybe this will help you train your pro-skills and perhaps with a bit of luck you won’t Miss Lethal ever again, or maybe the scenarios are way too fantastic to be of help on serious matches, anyway at least I hope you can have fun with them.
Your Hand
The Board
Demonic Sacrifice
So we’ve been toying around with our Void Gang Boss Zoo List, and we ran into a Beast Druid attempt. He put some early taunts to try and stave off our aggression but our Demon push has been putting some pressure. Turn 7 rolls around and our board is extremely weak to swipe, instead he drops….Core Hound. Disaster Averted, but why risk a silly top deck? Can you finish this game now?
eXtra Challenge!
The Extra Challenge this week is to do the maximum amount of Damage possible, but you get to take a few liberties. Check out the Void Gang Boss Zoo List, because instead of using the 6 card hand I provided, you can craft your own hand from any legal card in the deck. If you end up drawing any cards you can choose what they are, and you can also manipulate any RNG in your favor.
How bad can you beat that druid when you have God Mode activated?
also owned that comment section and had pretty cool solutions aswell.
Is this week YOUR turn to make your way into the “Got Lethal?” imaginary leaderboards?
Sac 1/1 in hound, play flame imp, abusive power over leper to face, face abusive, face voidcaller, void terror between leper & voidcaller summoning doom guard and charge face and win
Are all dwarves so hard to read, or just the homebrewed ones? Nice fastball my man!
Thanks
Much easier than the below. Use abusive and power overwhelming on leper gnome, play doomguard: 8 attack on the board, 11 in hand. Leper gnome dies, 2 more dmg done: 21 damage done.
yep, sometimes it is the simpler things that people don’t see and end up missing lethal, good job.
PLay abusive sergeant onto leper gnome and then play flame imp, attack for 4 with leper gnome and then 2 with abusive, attack the imp into the core hound, power overwhelming the voidcaller and attack for 7 to face (13 damage so far) play void terror inbetween leper gnome and voidcaller, leper deals 2 more damage (15) and doomguard spawns, hit for 5 to face and thats 20 damage
The proper way to (possibly) BM here is to first:
1. Play Knife Juggler. 2 mana, 5 left.
2. Play the Abusive Sergeant in the Leper Gnome (or the Voidcaller, or the whatever). Knife gets randomly juggled (and if we are doing the extra challenge without changing the given hand, the knife goes face). 1 mana, 4 left.
3. Play the Power Overwhelming on the Leper Gnome and proceed to hit the Druid’s face with everything for 14 damage. 2 + 8 + 1 + 3 = 14. 1 mana, 3 left
4. Use the Void Terror between the 1/1 and the 3/4 for the last bit of mana. The Knife Juggler gets one knife from the Void Terror and one from the Doomguard that is summoned (again, if we are doing the extra challenge without changing the given hand, the knives goes face). 1 mana, 4 left.
5. Use Doomguard to kill the Druid. If the Power Overwhelmed Leper Gnome had a chance to die, the total amount of damage would be 24 without changing hands.
As for picking whatever cards from the deck, the only thing I can come up with is 27. You would keep the Abusive Sergeant and the Power Overwhelming in the hand and add another Leper Gnome and a Power Overwhelming. Use two Power Overwhelmings on the Leper Gnome. Put another Leper Gnome between the 1/1 and the 3/4, and then use the Abusive Sergeant on whatever. This will total out to 4 mana and leave you with 2 + 10 + 1 + 5 (assuming the abusive went on the 3/4) equaling 18. Then use the Void Terror between the Leper Gnome and Voidcaller summoning Doomguard for 5 more damage plus the 2 damage from the Leper Gnome. Once the turn ends, the other Leper Gnome will die for 2 more damage, totaling 27. That’s all I’ve got so far. Let me know if any of what I’ve said is wrong.
imp into core hound. Abusive(2) and Power(4) of some folks. Go face with all(7). Play flame imp. Voidterror between Gnome(2) and voidcaller. Doomguard for finish(5)
