BlizzCon 2017 Ramps Up

by - 8 years ago

BlizzCon 2017 is just under two months away (November 3 – 4) and it’s been a busy week for Blizzard as everything ramps up for one of the best weekends of the year.

On Wednesday BlizzCon Virtual Ticket hosts Michele Morrow (@michelemorrow), Alex Albrecht (@alexalbrecht), and Malik Forté (@Malik4Play) updated the community on some of the exciting changes being made for this year’s event as well as giving us the first look at some of the in-game goodies given out as a part of the event.

One huge piece of news is the announcement that the Virtual Ticket is once again available for purchase and has been expanded this year to include ALL the stages at BlizzCon 2017 rather than being focused on just the main panel stages, so even if you can’t make it to Anaheim you’ll still have access to all the news and information you can handle.

Along with access to all of the panels at the show the Virtual Ticket has a new All Access channel, giving viewers opportunities to look behind the scenes of the convention. The ticket also includes the usual in-game goodies for various franchises, the first of which was announced during the livestream event.

This year’s World of Warcraft in-game goody are two faction-specific mounts:

the Stormwind Skychaser (Alliance)

and the Orgrimmar Interceptor (Horde)

Each of these mounts seat two players and have already been added to the game, so they unlock as soon as you enter the digital code provided with your Blizzcon physical or virtual ticket.

Along with the in-game goodies provided by the digital and physical tickets, attendees also get discounts and early access to the BlizzCon portion of the online gear store as the event gets closer.

The first item is already up for grabs as the 2017 Goody Bag has been revealed. This year’s goody bag is available for advance purchase to ANYONE (no BlizzCon ticket of any kind required) for $45 US, but ticket-holders get a $10 discount on the item.

Included in this year’s bag:

  • A BlizzCon branded backpack featuring an event-themed lining
  • Badge Icon Pack containing 6 badges (representing each of the current games available)
  • Series 4 Collectible Pin
  • Series 3 Cute But Deadly Blind Vinyl (Overwatch Edition)
  • Overwatch Backpack Hanger featuring Eidgenossen Mercy, a BlizzCon exclusive

Purchasers of the Physical Goody bag also have the option to upgrade their bag to the Epic edition for an additional $25. This Epic upgrade includes everything in the standard goody bag, plus:

  • 1 additional Series 4 Collector Pin
  • 1 additional Series 3 Cute But Deadly Blind Vinyl
  • 1 additional Overwatch Backpack Hangar (blind pack)
  • BlizzCon 2017 Merchy Pin (only available with this upgrade OR $150+ purchase during the BlizzCon merch sale)

The goody bag is currently available for pre-purchase and will be shipped prior to the beginning of BlizzCon. Attendees of the show in Anaheim will also be able to purchase the Epic upgrade to the bag provided with their ticket, but details on how are not yet available.
