Maxroll has updated their comprehensive Diablo 4 farming guide with the latest optimal routes for Season 7, and if you’re looking to maximize your time in Sanctuary, this is required reading. The guide breaks down the most efficient farming paths for everything from Boss Lair Keys to Obducite, complete with hard numbers on expected gains per minute.

The biggest takeaway is that Undercity of Kurast with Tribute of Titans absolutely dominates most farming categories right now. For Boss Lair Keys, it’s the top spot for six out of nine key types (Abhorrent Heart, Distilled Fear, Exquisite Blood, Judicator’s Mask, Living Steel, and Malignant Heart). The only exceptions are Betrayer’s Husk which drops from Belial’s ambush encounter, Pincushioned Doll which you’ll want to farm from Beast in the Ice and Lord Zir, and Shard of Agony from Grigoire and Echo of Varshan.

Obducite Farming Gets Competitive

The Obducite numbers are particularly interesting because the gap between activities has narrowed significantly. Undercity of Kurast with Tribute of Refinement still leads at around 125 Obducite per minute, but Horadric Strongrooms and Infernal Horde are right behind at approximately 100 per minute. The optimal Nightmare Dungeon strategy depends on your build’s mobility, with “grab treasure and rush to end” netting about 100 per minute for fast builds.

Maxroll includes extensive data tables showing Obducite per minute for individual Nightmare Dungeons (though they note this data is outdated as of patch 2.5.0, the relative scaling between dungeons remains useful). Caldera Gate tops the list at 873 Obducite per minute, while Halls of the Damned sits at the bottom with 416.

For crafting materials like Iron Chunk, Rawhide, and Veiled Crystal, the hierarchy is straightforward: Greater Material Caches from Tree of Whispers take the top spot, followed by Legion Events, Boss Lairs, and then Nightmare Dungeons focusing on Elite monsters and Resplendent Chests. Bundled Herbs and Angelbreath follow the same priority list but swap in Horadric Strongrooms as the second most efficient source.
