Every week the pros from team Fade2Karma break down the “Deck of the Week.” These decks are seeing a lot of play either in constructed ladder or tournaments. Team F2K explain the deck lists and how to play them. View past Deck Lists of the Week.

Today I want to present you the OTK-Warlock. It’s a bit unusual OTK deck with a demon tech as a 2nd win condition.

As I mentioned the deck has 2 main win strategies. Try to keep the board clear until you have collected all your combo pieces and finish your opponent off with the combo of: Arcane Golem + 1-4 (Dark Peddler) Power Overwhelming + Faceless Manipulator. Your second win condition is to overwhelm your opponent by pulling out Mal’Ganis with Voidcaller and copy it with Faceless Manipulator.

  • Always keep: Dark Peddler, Imp Gang Boss, Twilight Drake
  • vs Druid keep: Zombie Chow, Darkbomb, Voidcaller
  • vs Hunter keep: Mortal Coil, Zombie Chow, Darkbomb
  • vs Paladin keep: Mortal Coil, Zombie Chow, Darkbomb
  • vs Mage keep: Zombie Chow, Darkbomb
  • vs Priest keep: Zombie Chow, Darkbomb
  • vs Rogue keep: Zombie Chow, Darkbomb
  • vs Shaman keep: Mortal Coil, Zombie Chow, Darkbomb
  • vs Warlock (Zoo) keep: Mortal Coil, Zombie Chow, Darkbomb
  • vs Warrior keep: Zombie Chow, Voidcaller

You can also keep Nerubian Egg in tandem with Abusive Sergeant or keep Mal’Ganis together with Voidcaller.

Thoughts on some Cards

Abusive Sergeant: Can be used to trigger Nerubian Egg or to get good trades. Keep in mind that you can also buff an enemy minion to kill it with Big Game Hunter.

Dark Peddler: A very flexible card. Helps you to curve out well. Try to get a 3rd or 4th Power Overwhelming for a even stronger finishing combo.

Imp Gang Boss: Perfect to counter a very common turn 2 Knifejuggler play.

Hellfire: Great versus Grimm Patron Warrior to clear the board. Also good vs aggressive decks.

Voidcaller: Helps you to get out those big demons like: Doomguard or Malganis.

Faceless Manipulator: Use him to copy your Power Overwhelmed Arcane Golem or copy Mal’Ganis with Faceless Manipulator to get 2 11/9s to win the game. You can also copy an enemy Sylvanas and Power Overwhelm it afterwards to get rid of tricky situations.

In general, the deck can win versus every deck but its favourable matchups are Patron, Renolock and Aggro-Shaman. To the worst matchups you could count either Midrange Hunter or Priest.

With 9 powerful battlecries why leave out Brann Bronzebeard? Another consideration is Leeroy over Arcane Golem seeing as how you will almost exclusively be using it for a finisher anyway. Thaurisan hitting ANY of the 3 (PO, LJ, or Faceless) makes for a turn 10 20 damage burst. It’s only 4 more damage but that can make a big deal in the late game when you’re trying to push for game. To each their own.

Because the 3 slot is already heavily contested, maybe drop an imp gang
boss but it would lower the consistency of the deck. Arcane golem lets
you get combos off without Thaurissan procing first, for instance Arcane
      + 2POW + Facelesss = 24 dmg, Arcane + POW + Abusive + Faceless = 20
dmg, Arcane + POW + Faceless = 16 damage etc. This makes it a more mana
flexible finisher from hand that pairs nicely with the curve of this
deck, and because you run duplicates of POW and Dark Peddler this can scale even further with the procs.
